• Artesa de Segre, only three kilometres from Montsonís, is a point of reference in the region. There, visitors can enjoy the typical gastronomy of the zone in one of the restaurants that are hidden between the streets of this town, which once was declared to be a "city". This happened thanks to a royal grant, which prevented the town from being flooded by the construction of a dam. In those times, the towns were allowed to be covered by the water of marshes, but not the cities.
  
  
• Another journey that is highly recommended is to get close to Foradada, just one kilometre and a half from Montsonís. As a reward, excursionists can enjoy a refreshing bath in the swimming pools of the municipality during the summer, end the day of exercise in the playing field, or go up to the Roca Foradada (rock with holes), where one can try to prove the legend that says that, if one passes from one extreme of the hole to the other, with a green reed in one hand, and a basket full of water in the other, one can change one's sex.
  
  
• In February, one has the opportunity to do an interesting excursion organized by the Túnel de Montclar (Tunnel of Montclar), the mine that, on a path 5 kilometres long, crosses the mountain range with the same name, carrying water from the channel of Urgell, during the time when it is empty. Moreover, the visitor can get into the medieval times even more, visiting the Castle of Montclar, which gives its name to this town. It is one of the most antique castles of the zone; a firm fortress with four towers for vigilance and a wavering flag that indicates that the castle is inhabited. This castle offers visits and other activities, as a part of the route "Castillos de Lleida, un viaje al pasado" (Castles of Lleida, a journey to the past).
